Art and creating art is therapeutic, and often a joyful experience. The process of making art is a means of making time stand still, and forget troubles for a while. The result is often surprising and the exploration of it can reveal emotions and forgotten memories. This can aid in understanding feelings as well as help people to grow and to change. The creative process can replace many spoken or written words.
I offer art instructions in small groups or to individuals. Where I suggest themes or art activities I also help with technical instructions and materials. A guided meditation is a nice and relaxing way to start the creative session. We may listen to soft music while painting, and finish with a discussion on the finished piece of art. The esthetic value of the artwork is not as important as the activity and exploration of the piece. You do not have to "be able to draw" to enjoy these lessons. I also offer this service on Skype.
